Workshops

Learn to carve spoons or make a basket

Want to learn how to carve a spoon or make a basket?

I run workshops in spoon carving and willow weaving. Prices vary depending on the venue. Class sizes are small (6-8), and I can only teach adults, or 12-16 year olds accompanied by an adult

If you'd like a one-to-one or one-to-two lesson I run spoon carving classes at my home here in Richmond.

Prices are £70 for a half day per person beginners spoon carving (including refreshments), or £140 for a full day including homemade lunch and refreshments. Come with a friend and get £5 off.

I can run one to one basket making classes here at my home in Richmond or I can at your home if you have the space. Prices start at £140 (plus traveling if applicable)  per person for a whole day bespoke workshop. I can also run short group basketmaking sessions. POA

Spoon carving for beginners dates

A half day workshop where you'll learn how to carve a spoon from locally sourced wood.

You’ll find yourself lost in a world of wood chips and the beautiful facets of the natural product as you’re taken through the spoon carving process from beginning to end. Starting with a wooden blank, you'll learn safe knife techniques, the architecture of a spoon, types of wood and finishing processes, and by  the end you'll have your very own cooking spoon to take home. All materials and tools will be supplied.

The workshop is suitable for complete beginners and no experience is assumed. However, as we’ll be using sharp knives, the class is for over 18s only
